About Us
The Goethe Language Learning Centres in China are cooperation projects between the Goethe-Institut China and Chinese educational institutions.
The language courses and examinations at the language learning centres are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Efficient and communicative teaching methods in a modern learning environment ensure rapid learning success and enjoyment when learning a new language.
Global Network
The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany and says about itself:
We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. We convey a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information on cultural, social and political life.
With our network of Goethe-Instituts, Goethe Centres, Goethe Language Learning Centres, Examination Cooperation Partners, Cultural Societies, Partner Libraries and Information and Learning Centres, we perform central tasks in foreign cultural and educational policy. We are also a partner of public and private cultural institutions, as well as of the federal states, the municipalities and the business community.

Chongqing
Founded in 2008, the Goethe-Language Centre at the Sichuan International Studies University in Chongqing is a cooperation between the Sichuan International Studies University and the renowned Goethe-Institut China.
Qingdao
Founded in 2010, the Goethe-Language Centre at Qingdao University is a cooperation between the Qingdao University and the renowned Goethe-Institut China.
Tianjin
Founded in 2008, the Goethe-Language Centre at the Tianjin Foreign Studies University in Tianjin is a cooperation between the Tianjin Foreign Studies University and the renowned Goethe-Institut China.
Guangzhou
Founded in 2015, the Goethe-Language Centre at Guangdong University of Finance & Economics is a cooperation between the Guangdong University of Finance & Economics and the renowned Goethe-Institut China.
Shanghai
The Goethe-Jinchuang Language Center in Shanghai was founded in late 2007 as a cooperation project between the Goethe-Institut (GI) China and the Jing’an district education department. The joint objective is and was to facilitate German language learning following the quality standards for partner institutions of the GI.
Wuhan
The Goethe Language Learning Centre in Wuhan was founded in 2016, making it the youngest of these language learning centres in China. Our cooperation partner is the renowned Huazhong University of Science and Technology of Central China (HUST).
Our classrooms are located in the centre of Hankou on the grounds of the Tongji Campus. With us you will find ideal conditions for learning German. You will enjoy the advantage of learning in a pleasant family atmosphere and in small classes.

Nanjing
Founded in 2008, JESIE-Goethe-Language Centre in Nanjing is a cooperation between Jiangsu Educational Services for International Exchange (JESIE) and the renowned Goethe-Institut China.
Shenyang
The Goethe-Language Centre at Northeastern University is a cooperation between the German Goethe-Institut and the Chinese Northeastern University, established in 2013, with the aims of German language teaching and cultural exchange. It provides an authentically German environment for learning the German language as well as getting to know the German culture and aims to build cultural bridges between China and Germany through language education.
